Identity Crisis Management

The MTV Video Music awards is tonight and is, for those who consume massive quantities of cotton candy pop culture, just sheer joy to watch. It is hosted by the Hip-Hop-Artist-Formerly-Known-As-Puff-Daddy. In hearing that Sean Combs was experiencing the 7-minute name itch because he thought his new name would be “personal”, I thought about my own moniker on Grabass.

I don’t like it.

I chose it when I thought I was going to be a rather anonymous blogger, and sought something that I hadn’t really been called generally by anyone. I always thought it would grow on me, but it never did.

Looking to my good friend Diddy as a guide, I knew the time was right.

So after consulting with my personal image consultants, legal counsel, agent, and other professionals… I reached a decision. My new moniker will be Woy, as I’m referred to in real life by several people. Just like Diddy, it’s more “personal.”

You can stop holding your breath now. Wasn’t it worth it?

And no, I don’t plan on wearing a white suit anytime soon.

What’s in a Name?
OY!

No seriously, I can understand sometimes not growing fond of a name. But I would be careful attaching myself to the like of “Diddy” and don’t get me started on Prince/formerly symbol/formerly prince. I just feel sorry for that guys poor son!

Aw come on!
The thing that gets me about Diddy is that he’s famous for the sake of being famous. He’s a bad dancer, a decent rapper… but not much else.

I liked Wojo as a moniker -
I liked Wojo as a moniker - it couldn’t possibly be worse than wimmy. Or timmy, a la South Park.
