Dancin’ Across the USA
Lots of travelling is in the cards…
First a trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin to see Brett Favre take on the Steelers at legendary Lambeau Field. I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to being there for that game…
Then, it’ll be probably a 60 degree change shortly thereafter for a trip to Honolulu, Hawaii! Stretch is coordinating an event out there and has to be present. So, I get to accompany her for a surprise vacation.
Finally just when you think the roller coaster ride was just about to end, I’ll probably be going to New Orleans to assist with some volunteer relief efforts in the next couple of weeks.
Each of these trips offers so much in the way of sights, sounds, and growth… I’m quite excited for the next two months!

Sounds nifty! Have a blast with all the travelling. I sometimes miss the huge treks, but even the little ones like to Sydney this coming weekend feels pretty sweet right now.

Talking of travelling, I’m just back from a week or so in Ljubljana in Slovenia - it’s an amazing place and I’d recommend it to anyone who might be on a European trek in the near future.

Ditto me to on the lack of post Katrina information. Are people going back, or is the place still a no go with that new tropical storm hanging around off of Florida?
I’ll admit I had to brush up
I’ll admit I had to brush up on my geography before flying - its a very beautiful place though - we spent a few days in the city then went to a place called Lake Bled (http://www.uvi.si/eng/slovenia/photos/tourism/085/) - absolutely stunning.
It was Hungary and Czech Republic last year and Slovakia the year before - really want to see Russia though!

Unless you count Brisbane or Adelaide (two state capitals in Australia) as exciting I am afraid not. I am hoping to get overseas to a conference next year, so you never know I may be swinging through your part of the world sometime in the future. . . .

With the additional hurricanes that have hit (Rita, Wilma), and the impending indictments of Bush officials… New Orleans has disappeared from the American consciousness. Which is the most damning thing about our attention spans as a people… disasters are like shiny objects, to most people. As soon as it’s out of view, we forget about it.

Stretch and I hope to be able to come and see you both in the near future. The dollar’s horrible worth against other currencies makes it excessively difficult.
