The Worst Mascot Name. Ever.

I’ve never, ever been embarassed to say that I’m a Steelers fan.
Until now.

I’m righteously pissed. There were 70,000 entries to determine the name. Where did they do their polling? Cleveland?
Everyone associated this atrocity should be fired. I don’t care how high this goes. Dan Rooney? Your ass is GONE.

Dude - nice to see you’ve jumped out of retirement for this. Did you hear that sound yesterday at about 5:00? That was the Steeler nation with a collective WTF?!

1) Reminds me of Molly McButter.
2) At first I was surprised that McDonald’s hadn’t sued, but on second thought I realized McDonald’s didn’t want to ruin their rep associating with something that lame.
3) Does Pittsburgh even have a large Irish-descendent population? Wouldn’t Steely Beamski work better?

Is this a bizarre ref to Grey’s Anatomy?
If so, are there really that many cross-over Steelers/Grey’s Anatomy fans out there?
And I thought one of our football teams having a cockroach as a mascot was weird!
