The Great Gazoo

Great Gazoo Tom Brady

Some reflections from this Sunday’s NFL games:

  • My incredible disdain for the New England Patriots has now reached epic proportions after watching them defeat Indianapolis today. Save Bill Belichick, who is probably the biggest dick in professional sports, I focus most of my hatred at Tom Brady now also known as The Great Gazoo. Not only for that oversized helmet, but also because he creates just about as much magic as the Gazoo does.
  • Adrian Peterson is pretty damn incredible. If there was ever a time where I want someone running the last 100 yards to finish the Cannonball Run, he’d be my guy. (Sorry, Captain Chaos)
  • I want to say that if you don’t like Brett Favre or are rooting against him… you are a Communist and must leave the country immediately. If anyone is looking to get me something for Christmas, I’d love his jersey.
  • Is it me or since Nate Vasher pulled the field goal-return-for-a-touchdown maneuver a few years ago there’s been a rash of these sorts of plays? I feel great that Cromartie now holds the NFL record, but wouldn’t you think you’d be watching for that when your kicker is going to attempt a long-shot kick?
  • Wow, New Orleans got pissed that everyone wrote them off.
  • And, finally, don’t look now but the Browns might actually be kinda good. I said kinda.

I have a special hatred for Belichick — he was a dick when he coached in Cleveland, too, but he was also a lousy coach at that point, and it kills me to watch that slob fondling Super Bowl trophy after Super Bowl trophy.

Brady is less of a problem for me, because he couldn’t beat Ohio State when he played at Michigan. Easy for me to dismiss.

And we’ll find out how good “kinda good” is on Sunday.

Looks like a showdown on Sunday!

OK. After watching just the first half of Monday’s game, I’m going to go ahead and guess that “kinda good” isn’t going to be good enough. We’ll be able to score — unlike the Ratbirds and their “offensive genius” — but I don’t think we have the horsepower to keep up.

Yet.

I will, however, take great satisfaction in watching the first meaningful Browns-Stillers game since 2002. Given the way we started the season, that’s a miracle unto itself.

Yeah, after that game on Sunday I have moved into the “convulsing with pure hatred” realm re: Tom Brady as well. I used to hate the Colts, because of the playoff game we played against them where it was obvious that the refs were biased in the Colts’ favor, but then I realized that that wasn’t the team’s fault, just the refs’ fault.

And plus, Tom Brady’s a douchebag. Peyton Manning is just goofy.

UC - The playoff game in 2002 was the greatest football game I’ve witnessed in person, EVER. I know it wasn’t as a Browns fan, but the atmosphere was just plain fantastic.

gretchen - Douchebag is a great way to describe him. Douchebag with a bad haircut.
