Watching A Home Upgrade, Live!

Mrs. Woy and I dropped by the 2pointhome block party this afternoon. I originally did not plan to go and had the garage squarely in my sights. Cindy rightly reminded me of the joys of procrastination so we set out over to Allison Park to meet up with her and check it out.
It was a pretty cool little event with a bit of carnival, slightly overbearing corporate advertising, and nifty television production all rolled into one. We had the pleasure of meeting C.C. Chapman, and exchanged observations on tech and football. Jim was kind enough to give me a Flip video camera even though I was sans-laptop or any other form of technology. Thanks again to Jim and Verizon for it, and I promise I’ll make use of it in other video endeavours. It also represents the first type of blogger schwag I’ve received, which is nice.
Norm and Justin rolled in as well, and we watched the unveiling of the Zaharkos new home. The Zaharkos are a family of nine children and they performed remakes of their living room and basement areas with new technology including televisions, computers, etc. It was a wonderful day for them and all the kids and parents who showed up.
And, speaking personally, Verizon FIOS absolutely kicks ass. I’ve had it for several months having switched from Comcast and it’s miles above in quality, speed, and reliability.

I’m so upset I missed this, especially with the prospect of testing out Fios and a free flip video cam! I’ve been looking to buy one of those…
Sounds like it was a pretty cool event. Glad to hear you had a good time. :)

Rachel - It was fun! Hopefully there will be another one of those here if the show catches on.

Great to meet you and chat a bit as well. Thanks for coming out and having some fun in the chilled November air. It was great to meet so many Pittsburgh area bloggers.
