Normally when a new Massive Multiplayer Game (MMOG) comes out I usually don’t pay much notice. It really has been a fair amount of time since I played any sort of MMOG: The beta test of Ultima Online back in 1996. Way, way back I played multiplayer games back when having two-four people on a BBS (bulletin board system) was a really cool thing to do… and I racked up some serious bills playing on some of GEnie’s multiplayer games.
When I see the announcement that Lego is coming out with Lego Universe – it’s the first time in a long while something has given me, my wallet, and my sense of personal time pause.
In reality – I know I won’t sign up for it but it’s fun to imagine – and be scared for a little while.
Bonus fact: This was the first lego set I ever had and it was my absolute favorite for a long while.
i LOVE Lego Star Wars on my wii and Lego Batman just came with my Xbox. I scoffed at the whole series when it first came out because I thought “why would I want to play a lego video game?” Yeah, now I’m addicted. Legos can make anything humorous.
I had that exact same set. Back then happiness was building those sets step by step and comparing it to the cover of the box. But, the real fun began when it eventually was added to the giant box of parts we had. Those big knobby tires were the greatest.
I hope with all my heart that my kids love Legos too one day.
