Lucas After The Lid

Lucas After The Lid

Pittsburgh Blogfest 10 is going on right now at Finnegan’s Wake downtown.  I am at a business intelligence conference in Seattle, so in an effort to be there in spirit I’m going to write about an exciting development on The Sandwich.

One of the categories for HaGS is “What ever happened to…?” and in August of 2005 I wondered about Lucas Secon, the performer who had the hit “Lucas with the Lid Off” (one of my favorite songs) in 1994 and then promptly disappeared.

To my surprise and delight, Lucas himself discovered my entry recently and posted a comment on that post:

Peep up to date info on my myspace/lucasproductions page.Luc

Short but sweet, Luc lets us know what he’s up to.  I’m going to check out his current music, but it looks as though he’s more of a producer now than a content producer.

Putting my evangelism hat on for a moment, this is the kind of thing that makes me such a huge supporter for blogging and new content management.  The fact that Lucas found what I wrote on the Internet and was able to update me (and you) on what he’s been doing is phenomenal!  No agent, no press release, no intermediary necessary.

The conversation is the best part.

Jim Ecker Buys Chrysler?

ChryKek

Wow, I know he was making some nice bank… but a car company?

I’ll note for the record that I saw him in person once, and he was hard charging over to 7th Avenue off the Veteran’s Bridge in some massive ass Cadillac laying on his horn the whole way.

Driving that might make this purchase not look too good.

WPXI Severe Weather

Wow, am I glad I got back from my trip(s) just in time for this (more on them later):

PXI is kicking off “Severe Weather Week” here in Pittsburgh, with “tips to stay safe with upcoming Spring weather.”

Given the incredibly high rate of Pittsburgh weather-related fatalities, this is a sorely needed public service.

I’d be much more entertained by “Night Driving Safety Tips Week with Keith Jones” or “Narcolepsy Week with Stacy Smith”.

God, I missed Pittsburgh.
